FILM SCREENING
THURSDAY, JUNE 11
FIRST SHOWING 6:30PM
SECOND SHOWING 7:30PM

In honor of Haluk Akakçe‘s first exhibition in New York in nearly a decade, Richard Taittinger Gallery will host a private screening event with a selection of the artist’s earlier single channel films from 2000-2007.

The event will begin with an introduction led by Kathy Battista, longtime friend of Akakçe and main essayist for Haluk Akakçe: Reincarnation. She is currently Director of Contemporary Art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York and Senior Research Fellow of the Centre for Global Futures in Art, Design and Media at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton.

The film screening will have two showings, one beginning at 6:30pm, and the second at 7:30pm. This event is presented in conjunction with Come Midnight, a solo exhibition of new works by Haluk Akakçe currently on view at Richard Taittinger Gallery. The exhibition features Akakçe’s newest video piece, Moonlight Serenade (2015), and will remain on view until Sunday, June 21.
