3 Mar 2016 Covet Cult: “Rapaciously Yours” by Frances Goodman
Rapaciously Yours by Frances Goodman is the first major solo exhibition in the United States, shown by South African artist at none other than my favorite Lower East Side Gallery, The Richard Taittinger Gallery, located at 154 Ludlow St.. I highly recommend you stopping by to see the incredible installations and works and don’t panic, the show will be going on until April 17th.
“Rapacious” is defined as inordinately greedy, ravenous, and predatory. For Goodman, the term represents attributes that are only criticized in women, not men. With the spite of a sarcastic closing greeting, Rapaciously Yours investigates the complexities within the feminist pursuit of feeling at once powerful, self-satisfied, and desirable.
